Nigeria is one of the most dangerous places in the world to follow Jesus.
In the 2026 World Watch List reporting period, Nigeria ranked #7 worldwide, receiving a persecution score of 89 out of 100 and the maximum possible violence score. For eight consecutive years, it has been identified as the most violent country for Christians.
During this reporting period:
3,490 Christians were killed for their faith
2,293 Christians were abducted
1,000 Christians were raped or sexually assaulted
Nigeria accounted for more than 70% of Christians killed for faith-related reasons in 2024
Behind every number is a person: a believer, a family, a church, a community, and a testimony that matters to God.
Equip Nigerian Christians to Stand Firm
This Giving Tuesday, we’re raising $25,000 to provide apologetics training for Nigerian Christians and church leaders.
Apologetics equips believers to give thoughtful, biblical answers to questions about Christianity. It helps Christians remain grounded when they face pressure, doubt, violence, competing belief systems, and teachings that distort the gospel.
Your support will help Nigerian believers:
Build a stronger biblical and theological foundation
Encourage Christians who are facing persecution and uncertainty
Strengthen churches so they can serve their communities with truth and hope
Your gift will be doubled
A handful of generous partners have committed a $12,500 matching gift toward this campaign.
That means the first $12,500 given will be matched dollar for dollar. If we raise the remaining half of the goal, we will reach the full $25,000 needed to equip Nigerian Christians in apologetics training in 2027.
Your gift can have twice the impact:
$25 becomes $50
$100 becomes $200
$500 becomes $1,000
Together, we can help provide Nigerian Christians with more than emergency support. We can help equip them with lasting biblical confidence, clear thinking, and courage to stand for Christ.
Help us reach $25,000 by Giving Tuesday
Nigeria is a place of profound danger, but also profound Christian witness. In a country where believers are enduring violence, abduction, displacement, and pressure from competing religious and cultural forces, the church needs faithful equipping for the long term.
Will you help defend Nigeria by investing in the believers who are standing there?
Give today and have your gift matched.
